Beer Can Chicken – A Unique Recipe for Chicken

Chicken is one of the most popular types of meats on the market. It's no secret that there are thousands of different chicken recipes available for use, and one of the most interesting of those recipes is that of beer can chicken. It sounds like something unusual but it is easy to take care of and can make for a great meal.

There will be a few ingredients that will be needed for the chicken recipe. A whole chicken that is at least four pounds in size will be needed. Two tablespoons of vegetable oil, a teaspoon of black pepper, three tablespoons of dry spice and two tablespoons of salt will be needed. The dry spice used here can be any type. The last of the ingredients will be a can of beer.

To start the beer can chicken cooking process the beer can must be opened. Only half of the can of beer should be used, so it helps to empty out the can enough so that only half of the beer is still in the can.

The whole chicken will have to be cleaned. After it is cleaned the chicken will need to be rubbed with dry spice, pepper and salt. Vegetable oil will have to be rubbed onto the chicken after those ingredients are put onto the chicken.

After all of those ingredients are handled the half full can of beer should be put into the middle part of the grill. The chicken should be placed directly over the can in a way so that it appears that the can is inside of the chicken itself. After this the cooking process can begin.

The grill used for the chicken should be set at a medium high temperature. The chicken will have to stay there for around seventy five minutes. When the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit the chicken will be ready. It should then be taken out of the grill and cooled off for about ten minutes before it can be served.

So, what is it about this that makes for one of the most unique chicken recipes? It's that the beer used here will give the chicken additional flavor. The chicken will be able to keep some of its moisture so that the meat will not dry up while it is cooking. The malt and yeast used in the beer will also help in that the skin will stay crispy and the meat will stay tender and just right.

It may sound like an unusual recipe but beer can chicken is something that is great to prepare. It is one of the best chicken recipes because it is easy to assemble and cook. It creates a whole chicken that has moisture left to it and will make for a tender chicken with more juicy qualities. This makes for a great recipe to use for chicken.
