In a four wheel drive all four wheels work to push the vehicle so that better traction is created. Some newer models allow for on-the-fly four wheel drive where the four wheel drive is created when it is needed.

Shaft is the last option to use here. There are drive, chain or belt drives to choose from. A shaft drive needs less maintenance and can work on all terrains. Chain and belt drives could easily be snapped.

When buying an ATV you should consider all of these parts of an ATV when getting that ATV. The engine is especially important, but the clutch, drive and shaft are also essential things to use.
